Vihiga County Puts Up Biodigester Plant To Convert Waste to Biogas

His Excellency Dr. Wilber Khasilwa Ottichilo , EGH alongside the Chief Officer in the Department of Lands, Housing and urban Planning Arc. Kivaya Cheye Victor toured the Bio digestor plant that is under construction next to the Mbale Prison.

Tha plant has been able to Make use of the Waste from the Prison to generate biogas that can be used for cooking.

Governor Ottichilo directed that the plant be expanded to utilize waste from the County Headquarters and Vihiga County Referral Hospital so that we can produce more biogas and even commercialize the surplus.

“Once this plant is complete, we shall do another one at Kaimosi, Luanda and all the major markets. This will help us deal with the problem of Waste Management.” Said the governor
