Governor Ottichilo Leads Jamhuri Day Celebrations In Hamisi Stadium
As the Country marked the 60th Jamuhuri Day , His Excellency Governor Wilber Khasilwa Ottichilo alongside H.E. Wilberforce Kitiezo – Deputy Governor Vihiga County joined residents at Hamisi Grounds to mark the Celebrations.
The Governor affirmed that the County Government of Vihiga is set to actualize the youth bill and establish a youth directorate in which a number of youths will be employed.
His Excellency also noted that his administration through the Supplementary budget has increased bursary allocation from 3 million shillings to 4 million per ward across the 25 wards in Vihiga.
Additionally, the county government in partnership with the National Government has registered farmers for proper planing.
Dr. Ottichilo said his administration has plans to establish People Living with disabilities board and hire two officers living with disabilities to coordinate PWDs activities in government, elevate Cheptulu municipality, and allocated money towards the construction of Hamisi Stadium.
In his concluding remarks, the governor assured the people of Vihiga that he has settled doctors strike stalemate and doctors have resumed their duties urging the residents to visit hospital for health services
